From Brian Wilson:"We are greatly saddened to report that Carl Wilson, lead guitarist and founding member of The Beach Boys, has died from complications of lung cancer. He was 51. Carl is best known for his strong, soulful, and angelic voice, featured in songs like "God Only Knows," "Good Vibrations," "Darlin'," "I Can Hear Music," "Feel Flows," "Long Promised Road," "Wild Honey," and "Heaven." Carl is survived by his wife Gina, his sons Jonah and Justyn, and his brother Brian.
Close friend Billy Hinsche said of Carl: "My best friend, bandmate and mentor, Carl Wilson, passed away yesterday Feb. 6, 1998. I told Carl how many of you had posted messages of concern in the past few months. He was grateful for your positive thoughts and prayers. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and in your hearts at this time."BBFC President Alice says: "I had the privilege of knowing Carl personally. I have never known a more loving and considerate person. Carl was always thinking of someone else."
